My experience in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Clinic was GREAT! Over the course of the semester I was able to work on five different cases including preparing a case for trial. While in the clinic I was given the opportunity to appear in court, negotiate with district attorneys, and create relationships with my own clients. The clinic allowed me to learn about juvenile delinquency by working on a juvenile burglary case and writing a motion for informal probation. Additionally, I was able to work one-on-one with professors in developing jury selection questions, an opening statement, and a closing statement for a case that ultimately was dismissed by the district attorney. Through the clinic I was allowed to gain real-world experience while learning about various aspects of criminal law.
